The votes are in and America Idol has eliminated the first contestant of the season.  America loves country singer Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, whose performance received a standing ovation, and Angie Miller who landed  in the Top 3.  Church singer Curtis Finch Jr and Devin Velez landed in the bottom 2.

Nicki Minaj was so upset with the bottom 2, she said 'she'd go home if Curtis went home.'  It was Curtis with the least votes, singing for the judges only save of the season. Since the decision to keep Curtis wasn't unanimous, he was sent packing.  Does that mean we lose Nicki too :)  One can only hope.

The night wasn't without competition.  Former Idols Charlie Askew and Aubrey Cleland 'sang off' for a spot of the 'American Idol' tour.  Charlie did an original song called 'Sky Blue Diamond' while Aubrey took on Irene Cara's 'Out Her on My Own.'  Watch both performances below.  You can also vote for who you think should be on the Idol tour.

Last year's Idol Phillip Phillips returned to perform his new song 'Gone, Gone, Gone.'  Randy Jackson also presented Phillip with a quadruple platinum plaque for his debut single 'Home.'

Bon Jovi also stopped by to sing his new song 'Because We Can.'

Catch the Top 9 perform on Fox next Wednesday night at 8.
