Now that Stella has left Central New York with her gift of much more snow than was expected, we need to be good Samaritans and shovel out the fire hydrants.

The Utica Fire Department is requesting help from everyone to get this done as soon as possible. If there happens to be a fire in your neighborhood, many minutes will be lost if hydrants aren't immediately available to the fire fighters.

It won't take long and if you have a snow blower you can do it in a matter of minutes.  It's important, and one of those things to be done after a major snow storm in Central New York.
