Help Central New York Kids Start the School Year With New Sneakers

School may have just let out for summer, but before we know it, backpacks will be packed, buses will be rolling, and kids across Central New York will be heading back to the classroom. That's why now is the perfect time to help local children start the next school year with something many of us take for granted: a new pair of sneakers.

What is Kicks for Kids?

For many kids, new sneakers mean more than just looking good on the first day of school. They mean being able to run at recess, participate in gym class, play sports, and walk through the school day comfortably and confidently.

Nearly 1 in 5 children in New York State live in poverty. That means something as simple as buying a new pair of sneakers isn't always possible for many families.

Wearing shoes that don't fit can lead to blisters, foot pain, poor posture, and even make kids feel left out. Every child deserves the chance to learn, play, and grow without worrying about the condition of their shoes.

Lite 98.7 has once again teamed up with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield for the Kicks for Kids Sneaker-a-thon.

Helping is so simple:

• Pick out a pair of children's sneakers in any size or style.
• Complete your purchase.
• Amazon ships the shoes!

From there, The Neighborhood Center will make sure every donated pair goes to a local child who needs them most. Shoes can be purchased through August 8 to make sure each kid gets their pair before school starts!
