Too many products that we buy and use everyday have the words "Made in China" on them. If it's not China, it's another country where goods can be made at a cheap cost. Don and Nancy Hartman have been in business for over 40 years. The building which is home to The Potting Shed Antiques has been in Don Hartman's family since it was Hartman's Flowers in the 1950s. Now, Don and his wife have made it clear what their stance is regarding the reputation their town has received nationally these past few days.

The Castlewood Cafe began it's long legacy in Waterville and then ended up on Burrstone Road across from Friendly's with a second location in Washington Mills. Now, this hometown favorite has a brand new location and many people are excited for it's return.

Defazio's Pizza has been a staple in the village of New Hartford for countless years. It was one of the go-to spots for students of New Hartford High School for lunch, $1 draft nights on Thursdays, and one of the best pizza and wing combos in town. Unfortunately and without much notice, this long-time pizzeria closed it's doors on Saturday, December 12th, 2015.

Our area has been blessed with a number of new businesses that have opened their doors in 2015. It is a sign of the true growth that is happening right here in Central New York. The 10 have not only provided hope, but also jobs and in most cases a lot of new tax revenue, which is always a huge benefit.

One of the biggest Christmas Trees in New York State is undoubtedly the Norway Spruce that spends the holidays in Rockefeller Center in New York City. That tree is over 75 feet tall. Locally, there is a tree that sits at a little taller than 30 feet tall and you can see it in Oneida.

When a local business helps a local charity it makes all the difference. Davidson of Rome is teaming up with the Rome Rescue Mission to feed as many hungry people as possible this holiday season. They have setup a GoFundMe page and they are hoping to raise $25,000.
