The friendliest city in America is in New York, but you may be surprised where. No it's not New York City.

Readers of Travel & Leisure voted on America's Favorite Place and two New York cities made the Top 10..

Rochester, New York came in at #17 being described as:

"Rochester has a more Midwestern pleasantness than it does an East Coast attitude."

The southern manners in Nashville landed the home of country music at #7. But the top of the list belongs to New York.

The friendliest city in America is BUFFALO; home of the Bills, Saber and Niagara Falls. But friendly people? They must not be talking about the Bills' fans, who are among the most nastiest in the NFL.

One reader described Buffalo as a misplaced city.

"I've said for years that Buffalo is a Midwestern city dropped on the other side of Lake Erie."

"People smile at each other on the streets. We talk to strangers all the time and are just overall willing to help each other," another reader wrote.

But one native said it best. "They don't call us the 'City of Good Neighbors' for nothing."

AI guess anyone that can be happy with all the Lake Effect snow that is measured in feet instead of inches every Winter deserves the top spot.
