Jimmy Wayne to the rescue! While taking a walk through the woods, Wayne came across a man and his dog, out for a run. The dog had overheated and collapsed so Wayne and another jogger helped carrying the dog back to the owner's car.

Before collapsing, the dog had been running for almost 5 miles in near 80 degree heat. "The girl and I hoisted the dog up on the owners shoulders. We took turns holding the dogs upper body as the owner raced to his vehicle," Wayne explained on Facebook.

It's been a long winter and Wayne reminds pet owners, "I cannot just start running your dogs at the beginning of spring! They are overweight and slow from laying around all winter and need to work their way up."

Hopefully they treated the dog in time and saved his life.

Kudos to this girl who helped rescue a dog that had overheated and fallen on the trail in the woods. It's 76° right now...
