A truck got stuck under the railroad bridge on Onondaga Lake Parkway... yet again.

According to CNYCentral, the truck became stuck around 9:15 a.m. Friday morning while traveling westbound on the parkway. Police were on the scene, and traffic seemed to be moving smoothly in the eastbound direction, although slowly.

As of 10:30 a.m., crews freed the truck and were able to move it to the westbound shoulder of NY-370. Traffic is now moving in both directions.

This is a developing story, and we will update when more information becomes available.

We hear this story time and time again, and despite numerous signs on the parkway warning of the low bridge ahead, nothing seems to be enough to stop truckers from driving on the parkway and inevitably ramming into the railroad bridge.

Governor Cuomo announced a proposal in January to increase the consequences for commercial drivers who ignored signs and ended up on the parkway. Under Cuomo's proposal, the fine for a first offense would be $5,000 and a second offense would be $7,500.

"Bridge strikes--at best--create unacceptable and costly traffic problems with real economic consequences and--at worst--are a public safety hazard that put the lives of motorists and passengers alike at risk," Cuomo said, according to Syracuse.com. "With these new tougher penalties, we are continuing our aggressive action to reduce the frequency of these crashes and improve the safety and reliability of our roadways."
