Did you know that New York has a statewide program that offers discounts of up to $8,000 to qualifying residents who need to upgrade their HVAC equipment to improve energy efficiency?

It's a double whammy: Not only to participants receive discounts on equipment upgrades, but they see savings on their monthly utility bills.

The program is called the NYSERDA Assisted Home Performance with Energy Star, and Country Suburban Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. recently became a certified NYSERDA contractor. They're able to come to your home, provide a comprehensive energy use assessment and (if you meet the income eligibility guidelines) file the paperwork necessary to secure the discounts.

For those who qualify, the state will cover half of qualifying energy efficiency improvement costs, up to $4,000 per project for single-family homes. For two to four-unit apartment buildings with income-eligible residents, the discount max is $8,000.

"It all starts with a home energy assessment conducted by trained and experienced home performance contractors," according to the NYSERDA website. "The assessment provides you with a top-to-bottom look at where your home is wasting energy. You will learn the root cause of any drafts, inconsistent temperatures, heating and cooling system failures, or other problems you may be experiencing."

It all starts with a free assessment and estimate. To schedule yours, call 315-735-5300 or visit countrysuburbanhvac.com.
