The Department of Environmental Conservation's guided fishing trip for women only has been so popular they are adding more dates.  Whether you're a seasoned veteran or brand new to fishing, the 6-hour excursion on Lake Ontario is sure to net you a king salmon, coho salmon, brown trout, and/or steelhead.

The guided fishing trips are part of the DEC's "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" program. The trips are chartered with Captain Dave Wilson at the Oswego Marina. The new dates are:

  • Sept. 8, 2019 @ 1:00 p.m.
    Sept. 14, 2019 @ 1:00 p.m.
    Sept. 15, 2019 @ 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The trips are for up to 4 women age 18 or over. Captain Dave provides all the fishing equipment on his 28-foot cruiser. There are a few things you should bring along:

A valid NYS fishing license
Camera
Warm clothing
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Hat, raincoat and rain pants
Soft-soled shoes
Food, snacks, and drinks
Cooler to take your catch home
