The highly anticipated debut of Chaz Bono on ABC's 'Dancing With the Stars' did not disappoint.  Of course, his dance was saved for last, but it was worth the wait.  Not only did he do a decent job, but he did among controversy and criticism.  Chaz is the first transgender contestant on Dancing With the Stars.  Watch his cha-cha

J.R. Martinez, who went from the military to acting in a daytime soap opera, tied for the top spot with a beautiful Viennese Waltz.  If his heroism after getting hit by a bomb in Iraq isn't enough to garner him lots of votes, his dancing sure will.  J.R could be this year's trophy call winner.

J.R. will have to watch out for Chynna Phillips if he wants to win though.  She's with him for the lead after her gorgeous Viennese Waltz.  She even started the dance with a 15 second solo.  Who does a solo on week one?

The comedy award for the night goes to Carson Kressley.  The man has absolutely no rhythm but is one of the funniest people I've ever seen.  He didn't get many of his steps right but his enthusiam made everyone smile.

Ron Artest and George Clooney's ex Elisabeth Canalis are at the bottom.  Both had a bad night on the dance floor.  If Artest has his basketball buddies all voting for him then Elisabeth will go home.  She danced a bit better but her lack of 'stardom' may hurt her votes.  Tune in tonight at 9 on ABC to see goes home.  Who do you think it will be?
