Lauren Alaina and her dance partner Gleb Savchenko got in the Halloween spirit on Dancing With the Stars on Monday night (Oct. 28). Together, the pair danced an Argentine tango as vampires and earned top marks -- despite Alaina suffering from multiple injured ribs.

Alaina and Savchenko performed their Argentine tango to the song "Whatever Lola Wants" -- or, as Alaina joked, "Whatever Lauren Wants." Before their dance, the singer described her character for the night as "a strong, independent woman-vampire who gets what she wants."

Following the pair's dance, the Dancing With the Stars judges gave Alaina and Savchenko 27 out of a possible 30 points, even though Alaina slipped at one point. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised Alaina's recovery from that misstep, noting that that she "made it a moment."

"What you did with that slip is what blew me away," Inaba said, later adding, "You are evolving as a dancer every minute, every day."

In addition to Alaina, Season 28's Dancing With the Stars cast includes actors James Van Der Beek and Kate Flannery, former Bachelorette contestant Hannah Brown, comedian Kel Mitchell and more. The show pairs celebrities with professional dancers, with the pairings competition in an elimination-style competition until a winner is crowned at the end of the season.

Alaina is far from the first country artist to compete on Dancing With the Stars: Wynonna JuddChuck WicksSara EvansBilly Ray Cyrus, and Jana Kramer also previously appeared on the show. Kellie Pickler won the show back in 2013, while country radio DJ Bobby Bones won the show's 27th season in 2018; in fact, it was Bones who convinced Alaina to accept the competitor spot.
