March 2, 2012 Today, we're featuring running and walking music on our "Country Classic Double" at 11:30 a.m., in honor of the American Heart Association's "America's Greatest Hear Run & Walk". We lead off with George Jones' big hit back in 1964 "The Race Is On". I know the the Heart Run/Walk isn't a race, but that tune is a great running song. We follow it up with Leroy Van Dyke's number one song from 1961 "Walk On By".
March 2, 2012 "America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk" is this Saturday. While many of you will be walking, running or cheering, some of you may be driving, and you should know that as of early Saturday morning, many area roads will be closed or detoured.
March 1, 2012 Happy March 1st. We made it through January and February, and now onto the home stretch as we approach spring. But, as Yogi Berra once said "It ain't over 'til it's over", so winter weather is still in the cards. There are a number of things we can look forward to in March.
February 28, 2012 It's a busy "Heart" week ahead, as this Thursday you can participate in the New Hartford Indoor Walk, and pre-register for "America's Greatest Heart Run &Walk". The American Heart Association's Heart Run & Walk is this Saturday, and the weekend begins with the 41st Annual WIBX Slocum Dickson Heart Radiothon Friday and Saturday.
January 27, 2012 Two signature events of the Utica-Rome area are "America's Greatest Heart Run and Walk" and WIBX Slocum Dickson Heart Radiothon broadcast on our sister station WIBX. This year, the radiothon begins Friday, March 2 and continues on Saturday, March 3rd, the day of the run/walk. All of us at Big Frog 104 participate as "guest" hosts broadcasting a few hours on the air.
January 13, 2012 One of the premiere events of central New York is "America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk". Each year, many of us from Big Frog 104 participate on our sister station WBIX Radiothon during "Heart" weekend. Last night, a kickoff was held to set the stage for this year's event.
