Country Girl Skylar Laine Sails Through on American Idol But Who Went Home?

Country girl Skylar Laine is around for another week on American Idol after sailing through with her rendition of Bonnie Raitt's 'Love Sneaking Up on You.' But the bottom three this week were all girls.  Erka Van Pelt, Elise Testone and Shannon Magrane fell short but it came down to Shannon singing for her life to earn the sole save from the judges. Was her performance good enough?

Sadly, the judges chose not to give her their only pass of the season. Before Randy Jackson said they were showing Magrane the door, we were sort of feeling like the show manufactured this drama since contestant Jermaine Jones was ousted unexpectedly on Wednesday’s episode (March 14) when producers unearthed outstanding arrest warrants for the gentle giant. It would seem the spot vacated by Jones would eliminate the need to send a hopeful home since that would make two dismissals in one week. But ’twas not the case.
