America has spoken.  The Top 13 on American Idol is set and country girl Skylar Laine is among them.  Will she follow in last year's winner Scotty McCreery's footsteps? Who else moved on and who was sent home?  The Top 5 girls and Top 5 boys automatically went through.  It was then up to the judges to pick 3 wild cards after singing for their life.  The Top 10 according to America were:

Top 5 Girls
Skylar Laine
Shannon Magrane
Hollie Cavanagh
Jessica Sanchez
Elise Testone

Top 5 Boys
Phillip Phillips
Jermaine Jones
Colton Dixon
Joshua Ledet
Heejun Han

Jen Hirsh, Jeremy Rosado, Brielle Von Hugel, DeAndre Brackensick, Erika Van Pelt and Reed Grimm had to sing for the lives to stay in the competition.   After their performances, the judges made their wild card picks.  Randy Jackson chose Erika Van Pelt.  Jennifer Lopez went with Jeremy Rosado.  Steven Tyler picked DeAndre Brackensick.  Watch the wild card performances below.

I'm shocked Creighton Fraker didn't even get to sing for his life.  He was one of my early favorites because he was so unique.  As for the girls, I'm a little surprised Hallie Day and Jen Hirsh didn't move on.  But then again, the girls America choose were all excellent.

Next week the boys will sing Steve Wonder songs while the girls will take on the late Whitney Houston.  Mary J Blige will be the mentor. Tune in to Fox Wednesday at 8 for all the action.

Erika Van Pelt 'Edge of Glory'

Jeremy Rosado 'I Know You Won't'

DeAndre Brackensick 'Georgia on My Mind'

Are you happy with the Top 13?  Is there anyone you're surprised who didn't make it?
