It's down to the Top 4 on American Idol and after tonight, we'll be down to three.  I'll be shocked if anyone other than Hollie Cavanagh is the one sent home.  Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips all had their own moments on the show, while Hollie fell flat.  The Top 4 sang two songs, one from California and one they wished they wrote.

Joshua Ledet
Joshua received yet another standing ovation for James Brown's 'It's a Mans World.'  Randy Jackson called it the best performance on ANY show.  I agree it was standing ovation worthy but I'm not sure it was better than Juliet Simms' version on 'The Voice' semi-finals.

Joshua Ledet 'It's a Man's World'

Joshua also raised the roof with Josh Grobin's 'You Raise Me Up.'  Yet another song covered on 'The Voice' by Chris Mann.  I wonder if Josh is watching the show and getting tips.  It's working.  Both performances were chilling and should keep him around for another week.

Jessica Sanchez
Jessica had her own moments.  She closed the show with a gut wrenching performance of 'And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going,' the song former Idol Jennifer Hudson sang in the movie 'Dream Girls.'  A voice that big, coming out of a little 16 year old is still hard to believe. It would be also hard to believe if she doesn't make it through to next week.

Jessica Sanchez 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going'

Jessica also proved she could sing the blues when she took on Etta James' 'Steal Away.'  She had the judges singing her praises, yet again.

Phillip Phillips
Phillip bounced back from a so so week last week with 'Volcano.'  It was a song I'd never heard but the judges seemed to love it.  Steven Tyler said it was the best he sounded and  would listen to the song over and over again on his iPod.

Phillip Phillips 'Volcano'

Phillip went with CCR's 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain.'  It started slow but once he got to the chorus, the old Phillip appeared.  He put his own spin on the song and he should be safe this week too.

Hollie Cavanagh
Hollie started off on the right foot with Journey's 'Faithfully,' hitting all the right notes.  She would have been fine if she'd only sang one song.

Hollie Cavanagh 'Faithfully'

Hollie's downfall was taking on Bonnie Raitt's power ballad 'I Can't Make You Love Me.'  She's been criticized in the past for not connecting with the song and being too stiff.  Hollie took a few steps back, falling into old habits.  Her performance and lack of emotion will hurt her and she'll probably be the one sent home tonight.

Hollie Cavanagh 'I Can't Make You Love Me'

Phillip & Joshua teamed up for the best duet of the night.  They teamed up for Maroon 5's 'This Love.'  The two couldn't be more opposite as far as their voices go, but oddly enough, they blended perfectly on this song.

One more will go home tonight.  Season 7 winner David Cook returns to the stage tonight and Jennifer Lopez will also sing.  Tune in to Fox at 8 tonight to see who makes it into the Top 3. I'll be shocked if it's anyone other than Hollie sent home.
