Even if the weather won't cooperate, it's definitely spring.  Those May flowers are just days away and so isn't Mother's Day.  Need further proof?  It's opening day at The Utica Rome Speedway.  Click for details on opening night and the 2014 schedule.

A full slate of races are scheduled for tonight at 6, including; Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stock and Pure Stocks.  The speedway begins their 53rd season with a new NASCAR affiliation that is good news for drivers and fans.

the Utica-Rome Speedway became part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series which adds even more incentives to the weekly competitors.  Not only will drivers see a rise in season ending point money, they now have the ability to compete for a NASCAR state title and national title.


Here's the Utica Rome Speedway 2014 schedule.  Gates open at 3:30 this afternoon for the opening day with racing at 6.  Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, military and students.  Kids 9 and under are free.  The speedway also offers a special family seating section.
