As fans get ready for the Comets' preseason game on Sunday October 9th, the Utica Memorial Auditorium will begin operating with new security procedures.

These procedures are no stranger to major events held with the NBA, MLB and NFL sporting venues. According to WKTV, here's what to expect different this season:

- Hand-held metal detector wands will be used at all main entrances beginning with the Comets’ preseason game on Sunday, Oct. 9 against Syracuse. Fans are encouraged to arrive 15 to 20 minutes earlier than usual.

- Fans will also be asked to remove all objects from their pockets before passing through the metal detectors wants. No knives, weapons or firearms of any kind will be allowed into the arena.

Bags will be allowed, but they will also be subject to inspection. You can learn more by Clicking Here.
