Utica's Newest sports bar and the Utica Aud's first-ever year-round tavern is set to open this spring and now we know when to line up at the doors.

The Adirondack bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium announced that they will officially open the doors to The Seventy-Two Tavern & Grill on June 1!

The Seventy-Two Tavern & Grill will be a sports bar with a full-service restaurant, and the first bar at the Aud to be open 7 days a week and year-round.

The name Seventy-Two Tavern & Grill is as unique as it is creative. The name comes from the 72 cables that have held up the roof of the Aud for more than 50 years.

The big attraction of the bar is a 160-inch LED HD video wall, and even cooler is the fact that it was designed and built by Mike Evke founder of Eversan right in Whitesboro.

The Seventy-Two Tavern & Grill, expected to open later this spring will have it's own dedicated entrance on the west end of the Aud and will be a mecca for sports fans in the Utica/Rome area.

In a press release, President of Mohawk Valley Garden Rob Esche says the 'Seventy-Two' will cater to local sports fans by showing all of the Comets games on the 162-inch video wall, along with Sunday football, NHL Playoffs March Madness, fight nights, and other nationally televised sports and entertainment events.

The 'Seventy-Two' will be managed by ORB Food & Beverage, who also runs the Aud's concessions when it opens on June 1.
