Remembering Alex Kogut & Supporting Domestic Violence Awareness Month By Wearing Purple

With October being Domestic Violence Awareness month and the recent murder of New Hartford teen Alex Kogut, a Facebook page was set up asking everyone to wear purple today.  The call was heard loud and clear.  Today there's purple everywhere you turn.

On October 5, 2012 we would like to honor and remember Alexandra Kogut, a SUNY Brockport student who passed away last weekend. We are asking everyone to wear purple in remembrance of Alexandra and also in awareness of Domestic Violence. Please do spread the word and wear purple on Friday

Valerie Corddi took this picture this morning in Brockport where Alex went to school.  Maybe she knows whats going on in the community and is smiling down on us today.

Alex Kogut was killed in her dorm room last weekend.  Her boyfriend, Clayton Whittemore is charged with her murder and is being held without bail.
