Funeral For New Hartford Teen Alex Kogut Thursday

As a community continues to mourn the loss of New Hartford teen Alexandra Kogut funeral services will be held on Thursday. It will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford at noon. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 tomorrow at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home on Oxford Road.

A candlelight vigil was held last night on the SUNY Brockport campus where Kogut was a freshman.    A Facebook page was set up to remember Alex and people are sharing their stories and sadness over Alex's death.  Some are wearing purple in her honor and many continue to raise awareness of domestic violence.

Kogut was killed in her dorm room at SUNY Brockport over the weekend. Her boyfriend, 21 year-old Clayton Whittemore is being held without bail on murder charges.
