Softball Tournament Being Held for Rome Baby Who Died After Heroic Cancer Battle
The memory of Mya lives on as a snowball/softball tournament is taking place in her honor.
Mya is the 19 month old Rome girl who passed away a few days before Christmas from cancer. She touched many lives during her battle and continues to inspire after she's gone.
A softball tournament in her name is being held at the Lee Center Fireman's Field January 27th & 28th. And it's already filled with 12 teams. Gary Reese, who organized the event says he's overwhelmed by the response he's received. "I haven't even started knocking on businesses doors yet and I'm already getting so many basket donations. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I only was expecting the team fees and a few baskets to help jump start the foundation, but never expected this."
All proceeds benefit the Mya Corigliano Foundation.
Games start at 8am both days and play till dark. Food and raffles are available. Be The Match Bone marrow registration drive will also be at the event.
