WNYT reports that an alternative physical education class in Iowa is helping people, especially the elderly. The Alternative Learning Center in Dubuque is giving students physical education credit if they agree to do yard work for elderly and disabled residents in the community.

This is only for the last two weeks of school, but the effort is having a big impact. Their teacher says the students love seeing the finished product and the impact they have on the people they helped."
