When you hear her sing you may think sugar and spice and everything nice, but what you’ll get is a bull riding and barrel racing woman with powerhouse vocals. Meet Dani Loomis our National Anthem performer at FrogFest 32.

Her given name is Danielle, but everyone knows her as Dani. She is originally from Cassville and graduated from Mt Markham High School. Dani and her daughter currently reside in Vernon. If there's a rodeo anywhere in Central New York, you'll most likely find her singing the Star Spangled Banner to start the show and then competing in the bull riding and barrel racing competitions.

The passion for bulls started at an early age and despite her dad's best efforts to encourage her to find another love like dogs or horses, nothing equaled the thrill of the chute flying open. And yes, Dani has made the 8 second buzzer in practice a few times.

Don't think singing takes a back seat to the rodeo competitions. Dani has twice auditioned for American Idol. Once when she was a mere 12-years-old. About three years ago, Dani took part in an open audition in Boston where more than 360-thousand people tried to make the show. She made it through two video rounds to gain a spot in the open auditions. The judges told Dani they were looking for more dramatic performances similar to the TV Show Glee and suggested she try for a spot on The Voice. It's next on her agenda.

Dani will kick off the FrogFest 32 stage performances, singing the National Anthem at noon this Saturday (September 18) at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds.
