In Plymouth, Massachusetts "Kaiser" the police dog was put to sleep in May of 2013. He was diagnosed with a kidney disease and at 2 1/2 years old had to be put down. As he was being walked into the vet's office, Officers from the Plymouth Police Department gave him a salute for his end-of-watch. This brave pup knew he was loved and was honored for his service. Check out the Facebook post form ABC 7 Chicago.

It's important to remember those who have been lost both animal and human.
