A man who found a ring missing for a year on a New York beach found the owner hours later thanks to social media.

Craig Bordeaux discovered the Glens Falls class ring with his metal detector on Haviland Cove Beach. "It was in 6 inches of water just under the sand," Bordeaux told WNYT.

Bordeaux turned to Facebook to find who the ring belonged to, sharing pictures. 2 thousand shares and a few hours later, the owner was found.

Kyle Fosmer lost the ring on the beach a year ago. "Everyone was tagging me on social media and texting me to ask if it was my ring," said Fosmer.
