Beginning this month, low income New York residents 60 years of age or older can get free coupons to use at statewide farmers markets.   The $20 coupons are in a booklet of $4 each and can be used to buy produce at participating farmers markets throughout the state. Seniors who think they may qualify can call their local county office for the aging for information on how and where to get the booklets.

The coupon checks are distributed on a first-come, first serve basis and are part of a $500,000 fund established in the 2017 New York State budget.
