Why Polly Calls John for Everything She Needs to Keep Her Mobile Home Warm in Winter
Well, there's no denying it: Winter's here, and now it's just a matter of HOW cold it will get and HOW much snow will pile up. The Farmer's Almanac says we're going to get hammered with snow, ice, and rain in the coming months, but SnowBrains says we'll actually get less snow because of a weakened La Niña.
Keep the Warm Air In and the Cold Air Out
I don't have the answer to that one, but I can tell you that I don't want to be trying to seal leaky windows or fussing with my furnace when it's -10 degrees out. I hate being cold, but it's not too late to fully winterize your mobile home.
You still can check the skirting, windows, and doors to see if they need to be replaced or upgraded to more energy-efficient models. Our furnace was chugging along this spring, so I don't anticipate any issues there, but take action now if you notice persistent bad smells, weird noises, an inability to produce heat, or any other warning signs.
