Usually the Thanksgiving food coma lasts more than just one night. There's days of leftovers for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. While I love a good extra slice of pie, I always feel great jumpstarting myself out of the Thanksgiving food coma with a little exercise and a lot of Christmas music.

There's a festive 5K coming to Clinton on November 30 at 8 a.m., and its bound to get you in the holiday spirit. Runners are encouraged to dress up for the 2nd Annual Clinton Shoppers' Stroll and 5K Jingle Jog, and everyone that registers will get some jingle bells to attach to their bibs. Needless to say, the sounds of holiday cheer are about to be spread all throughout Clinton.

You'll want to register here by November 8 to guarantee your shirt, but last-minute registration is also available November 29 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Soul Stop and November 30 from 7 to 7:45 a.m. right before the race at The Village Tavern. The party continues after the race on the Village Green with Santa and Mrs. Claus, horse-drawn wagon rides, a fire pit, hot chocolate and s'mores.

Organizers are also looking for volunteers for this year's race. If you're interested in helping out, contact ML Nolan at marylisa.nolan@yahoo.com.
