How Did The Ice Bucket Challenge Get Started?

The Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS Awareness has now gone completely viral and almost anyone with a Facebook account has already accepted the challenge. Even better than all the people posting their awesome videos, millions of dollars have been raised for this great cause. One of the biggest questions is where and how did this whole campaign begin?

It all started with a former Boston College Baseball Captain, Pete Frates. Pete had an incredible college baseball career and at the very young age of 27, he began to feel something wrong with his body. After a trip to the doctor, he was given the terrible news that he had ALS. Pete's mission immediately became advocating for this terrible disease and finding a cure.
