Can you help break the Ice Bucket Challenge record? Sitrin and ALC of Utica will try an break the world record for the largest Ice Bucket Challenge.

China currently holds the record at 782 people. The goal in Utica is to have 1,000 or more take part. The challenge will be held Sunday, July 23rd at Murnane Field, following the Utica Blue Sox game. If you take part, you'll even get a free ticket to the game, starting at 3pm.

"The Blue Sox are honored to host this world record breaking event," said George Deak, Utica Blue Sox team owner. "We are an organization centered around community involvement and welcome any chance to support great organizations such as these."

Marc DePerno, Sitrin Outreach Coordinator says the primary purpose of the Guinness World Records is to encourage people to challenge themselves and surpass human limits. "Persons with ALC do that ever day as they fight for their lives."

If you want to help break the Ice Bucket Challenge record, you can sign up at 6pm. The World Record attempt will begin around 6:45pm.
