It was a day filled with tears, laughter and memories. The Michael Oltamnn outing without golf clubs brought family and friends together to remember Oltmann, the Waterville teen tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in June.

Laughter could be heard throughout the day as teams used everything from water balloon and potato launchers to tennis rackets and lacrosse sticks. The most creative invention came from Mike Moran who's handmade apparatus helped his team take home 3rd place. The contraption even had skis on the bottom to tow it behind the golf cart.

Tears were shed as friends and family remembered Oltmann and his infectious smile. Even though he wasn't with us to enjoy the special day, his presence was felt by many who wore shirts and bracelets in his honor.

Memories were made that will last a lifetime and Oltmann's memory will live on through scholarships for Waterville high school seniors. With over $5,000 was raised, two Waterville students will be awarded the Michael Oltmann Scholarship for the next five years.

The most creative way to find your ball came from the Zielinski team. One member hit it into the water and the rest of the team bet him he wouldn't jump in and get it. They bet wrong! Not only did he strip down to his underwear and jump in, he came back with the ball. Whether or not it was HIS ball is another story.

A big thank you to the Waterville Teacher Association, who also raised $400 for the Michael Oltmann Scholarship. Teachers and the school superintendent set up a dunk tank during the annual Waterville Cruise-In.

A final thanks to anyone who was involved in this year's outing. Whether it was a donation, raffle prize, playing in the event or just donating time to help, it wouldn't have been the huge success it was without you.

Check out all the great photos from the day taken by Becki Decker English.
