CNY First Responder Uses Years of Experience to Inspire His Community
Here's a local hero who's no stranger to volunteering and public service.
Meet Jim Kuhn
Years and years of experience is what Jim has, and he's more than grateful to be able to share it with everyone around him. Following in his dads footsteps, Kuhn joined the Willowvale Fire Company at 18 years old. Through the years, he served in many positions and eventually became Chief.
Jim works full time for the Oneida County DPW, but for over 30 years he could be found driving an ambulance or dispatching for Edwards Ambulance. He is an active member of the Clayville Fire Department, the New York State Chiefs Association, and was on the Board of Believe 271.
Many would say that Jim is the true definition of a hero.
He gives 100% to his community and his family and never asks for anything in return.
Thank you Jim for everything you do. You're not only an inspiration to your family, but for your ever-growing community as well. We need leaders like you out there to keep this world running.
Nominate a First Responder
Do you know a first responder that deserves to be recognized? Tell us about someone who should be honored in Central New York - a firefighter, police officer, EMT, forest ranger, paramedic, DEC officer, military, rescuer, front-line worker, or any other person first on the scene.
Include their name, a picture, and why they should be recognized during 'First Responder Friday." We'll honor one first responder every Friday and as a way to say thank you, we'll give them a Bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.
