CNY Firefighter Serves As Mentor and Huge Inspiration To His Team
Meet Jeremy Hemingway
Jeremy has been a dedicated firefighter ever since he was old enough to join. He originally started with the Central Square Fire Company, before moving to the Cicero Fire Department to serve as Lieutenant.
He recently went through the fire department for his EMT classes where he passed and is now a NYS Certified EMT. He has also been part of the Emergency Management Apprentice program learning the trade of becoming a Fire Investigator.
Jeremy has received many awards as a Firefighter, including Firefighter of the year, along with many top 10 responders awards through the Cicero Fire Department. He is a big asset to the Cicero Fire Department answering calls at all hours of the night, as well as when he isn’t at his full time job.
He never second guesses or freezes when there’s an emergency. He’s the first to jump into action with all of the training he has received to take control of any situation that arises and sees the whole situation through.
Thank you, Jeremy, for being such an inspiration. You serve your community with such heart and determination. You are a mentor to so many, and deserve to be recognized for all that you do.
Do you know a first responder that deserves to be recognized? Tell us about someone who should be honored in Central New York - a firefighter, police officer, EMT, forest ranger, paramedic, DEC officers, military, rescuers, front line workers, or any other person first on the scene.
Include their name, a picture, and why they should be recognized during 'First Responder Friday." We'll honor one first responder every Friday and as a way to say thank you, we'll give them an oil change from Jiffy Lube on Commercial Drive in New Hartford and a Bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.
