Young Volunteer Getting Recognized At Waterville Fire Department
This first responder should serve as an inspiration to anyone, regardless of your age.
Meet Amber Bechy
This is someone who proves it doesn't matter who or what age you are, even you could be a hero. Amber is a volunteer at the Waterville Fire Department and the COC Ambulance. She has dedicated countless hours to help her team and better serve her community.
On top of volunteering and living her normal life, Amber also worked hard to gain her EMT and degree in Criminal Justice. Not only does she show her dedication for her community in every way she can, but Amber is a loyal person to have by your side.
She truly cares for others and is a great friend as well. She deserves recognition for all of her time spent saving others and running towards danger.
So thank you Amber for all that you do. Dedicating so much of your time towards protecting your community at a young age shows a lot. You serve as an inspiration for any little girl or boy looking to become a fire fighter one day.
Do you know a first responder that deserves to be recognized? Tell us about someone who should be honored in Central New York - a firefighter, police officer, EMT, forest ranger, paramedic, DEC officers, military, rescuers, front line workers, or any other person first on the scene.
Include their name, a picture, and why they should be recognized during 'First Responder Friday." We'll honor one first responder every Friday and as a way to say thank you, we'll give them an oil change from Jiffy Lube on Commercial Drive in New Hartford and a Bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.
