If Charles Kelley's debut solo single wins a Grammy, he won't be there to accept it. The singer is staying home to be with his new baby, Ward, and his wife, Cassie.

The couple's first child is just four days old, having arrived on Feb. 11, ahead of his due date. Kelley previously revealed that his wife wasn't due until Feb. 17, and she was encouraging him to attend the Grammys. That hall pass seems to have not been extended to post-delivery time, but "The Driver" singer hardly seems bummed about it.

Baby Ward is the first child for the Kelleys. They announced the baby news in 2015, and revealing that it was a struggle for them to conceive naturally. Doctors gave the couple less than one percent of a chance of making a baby, but they did it, and now they're enjoying time with their bundle of joy.

“We can’t stop staring at him and he hasn’t stopped chitchatting with us since he arrived," they said on Thursday (Feb. 11). "He’s got momma’s nose and daddy’s eyes and vocal chords and a head full of blond hair.”

"The Driver" is nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category. The song is the lead single from Kelley's debut solo album The Driver. Eric Paslay and Dierks Bentley join him on the ballad, a moody tribute to the fans, crew and songwriters that help a country star get off his feet.

As part of Lady Antebellum, Kelley has won seven Grammys, most recently in 2012 for Best Country Album.
