Central New York Under Flash Flood Watch Today
Just what farmers, gardeners, and anyone who goes outdoors wanted to hear, more rain. And there may be lots of it with thunderstorms forecast for the morning and afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch, here are the details.
WHAT: Flash Flood Watch from 8 a.m through this afternoon.
WHERE: The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued the Watch for the following counties:
Chemung, Cortland, Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern Oneida, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, and Yates.
Forecasts call for 1 to 2 inches of rain from the Finger Lakes through the Thruway Corridor. Some of the storms may also contain gusty winds which could lead to power outages from downed lines, poles, and trees.
