Celebrate National New York Day With These Country Songs
September 21st is National New York Day and we'd like to celebrate accordingly. It's always fun when you hear a reference to where you live in a song, and that's why I've compiled a number of country songs that give a toast to some aspect of the great state of New York. So add 'em to your weekend playlist and get jammin'.
"New York called when she turned 21, but she never forgot where she came from."
"Maybe she's livin' up in New York, workin' on Wall Street."
"From Muscle Shoals to Santa Rosa, Bakersfield to Tullahoma, Baton Rouge up to Buffalo. Anywhere that you might call home."
"Sittin' in a bar in New York City. Everybody here lookin' New York pretty."
"You know everywhere has somethin' they're known for, although usually it washes up on our shores. Little Italy, Chinatown, sittin' there side by side. Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"
If you're wondering why September 21st is National New York Day, NationalDayCalendar.com celebrates each state in the order it became part of the union starting the week of the Fourth of July.
