Cash Grant Helps Local Seniors Tell Their Stories
You've heard the expression, "Respect your elders", and many cultures such as Native Americans believe that our older generations have much wisdom to share. And they do. Now, thanks to a grant, many of our local seniors will have a chance to have their stories told.
According to our sister station, WIBX:
"The Oneida County Office for the Aging will be receiving a grant of $8,991 to document the stories of Oneida County seniors.
The Life Stories project is entitled, “Everyone has a story: Telling the Story of Oneida County Seniors,” and is being funded by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. The completed video product will be part of the AgeNet resource library.
You can get more information by calling Michael Romano or Kathleen Bishop, Ph.D., at the Oneida County Office for the Aging at (315) 798.5456."
