Some Seniors May Qualify For Free Air Conditioners

The Oneida County Office for the Aging is helping local senior citizens keep cool this summer with their Cooling Assistance Program.

On Thursday June 15, stop by the New Hartford Senior Center at 1 Sherman Street in New Hartford between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 to see if you qualify for a free air conditioning window unit.

You'll also have another chance on Monday, June 19 during the same hours.

If you or a senior you know is already enrolled in the Home Energy Assistance Program(HEAP), then you should automatically qualify.

Additionally, if you are a senior on a fixed income and have a recommendation from your doctor, you could qualify as well.
