Ahead of the premiere of his upcoming new variety show, Brad Paisley Thinks He's Special, Brad Paisley has debuted his poignant new song, "Alive Right Now." While the show promises a healthy dose of Paisley's trademark humor, this song addresses much more powerful -- and celebratory -- topic. It pays tribute to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, and features a duet with St. Jude alum and cancer survivor Addie Pratt.

"When I got my own ABC special, one thing I wanted to do was shine a light on something good, and boy, did I get a chance to do that," Paisley says of the song before introducing his audience to Pratt (quote via Whiskey Riff.) "['Alive Right Now'] is one of the highlights of not only the night but of my entire career."

In fact, Paisley says that he enjoyed performing the song with Pratt so much he decided to invite her to contribute vocals to the studio version of the song. "You hear this on the radio, and you might think it's a top new female vocalist in country music, but it's probably someone you've never heard of named Addie Pratt. St. Jude survivor," Paisley adds.

Mississippi native Pratt, now 18, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in February of 2016. She quickly went to St. Jude for treatment, which was successful, and returned home in July of that same year. Now in college, Pratt is a TriDelta sorority member and has performed the National Anthem at a number of sporting events, including the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend.

Brad Paisley Thinks He's Special will air on Tuesday (Dec. 3) at 8PM ET on ABC. In addition to hosting the show, Paisley also co-executive produced it. Jane Mun, RAC Clark, Bill Simmons and Kendal Marcy also serve as executive producer for the project.

Over the course of the variety show, he'll welcome several famous friends to the stage, including Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Tim McGraw, Kelsea Ballerini and many more.
