November 3, 2012 Marine Corporal Alex Domion, 21, of Richfield Springs has been reported killed in a non-combat related incident in Afghanistan. According to The Marine Times Domion's death, which occurred during his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, is being investigated by military officials.
August 14, 2012 "Nuts!" That was the response from the 101st Airborne Divisions acting commander General Anthony McAuliffe when ordered to surrender by the Germans at Bastogne during WW2. It is just one of many historic highlights of the 101st Airborne Division which, according to the AP, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this week as part of Fort Campbell's "Week of the Eagles". The "Screaming Eagles" have often been featured in various venues of popular culture.
August 1, 2012 We affectionately called them "flyboys" when I was in the army but the men and women of the United States Air Force were looked upon with admiration and gratitude by the "grunts" in the field. Today is U.S. Air Force Day, a day to salute those "flyboys" (and women) who serve and protect us and our freedoms. The Air Force is a relatively new segment of our Armed Forces.

So Airman Jamie Walden figured, "Why not, I'll ask Tim Tebow to be MY date". Jamie is a huge Tim Tebow fan so she recorded a video invitation and posted it on YouTube.

January 30, 2012 A ceremony took place yesterday in Utica, as area soldiers gathered to say goodbye before being deployed to Kuwait. We thank the men and woman in the military serving our country in this deployment and throughout the world.
June 9, 2011 Soldiers returning from Afghanistan are fighting airline fees. The members of the US Army were charged $200 in extra bag fees on the final leg of their trip home to a base in Louisiana. The soldiers were allowed to check 3 bags for free but had to pay the extra fee for the extra bag. The men were so upset about the charges, they made a video and posted it on YouTube. Hours after the video went viral the airline changed its policy, allowing anyone in the military flying coach to check 4 bags at no extra cost. Several other airlines matched the offer.
