A ceremony took place yesterday in Utica, as area soldiers gathered to say goodbye before being deployed to Kuwait. We thank the men and woman in the military serving our country in this deployment and throughout the world.

According to our sister station, WIBX:

"More than 200 local soldiers said good-bye to friends and family during a deployment ceremony at the Utica Armory on Sunday.

The New York Army National Guard’s 27th Brigade Combat Team is headed to Kuwait this coming April.

The soldiers from the 108th Infantry Regiment will be headed to Camp Shelby in Massachusetts for training before heading to Kuwait."
