May 18, 2011 While doing a little Internet browsing, I came across this Diet Coke and Mentos experiment video. There are two variations of the experiment. One is the put Mentos candy into a bottle of Diet Coke and watch a soda geyser erupt. The other variation, which is displayed in this video gem, is to put the candy in the soda quickly, put the cap back on the bottle and throw it at the ground--it creates a rocket-like effect.
