At Big Frog 104, it's fun to look back at some of the country music stars of yesteryear. My question is: "Where are they now"? Today, let's find out what Charley Pride has been up to, other than an occasional visit to our "Country Classic Double" weekdays at 11:30 a.m.

Over the years, when I've asked you who you'd like to hear on the "Country Classic Double" weekdays at 11:30 a.m. , Conway Twitty always tops the list. We'll begin this morning's Double with "You've Never Been This Far Before", Conway Twitty's number one country song on this day back in 1973.

We're going way back to the Jurassic Period of country music on today's "Country Classic Double" at 11:30 a.m. We'll kick it off with the number one country song on this day back in 1959, Waterloo, by Stonewall Jackson. The song also went to number four that year on the Pop charts.

The Oak Ridge Boys is one of those groups who have had big hits on both country and pop charts. Today on our "Country Classic Double" we feature the birthday girl, Crystal Gayle who is celebrating (whether or not she's actually celebrating, let's say observing) her 61st birthday. Crystal Gayle has had a successful career both in country and pop music, and for many years has been known for her long, long, hair that stretched all the way down her back.

Sometimes our "Country Classic Double", weekdays at 11:30 a.m. has a historic note. Today, we feature the number one song in the country back in 1969…Merle Haggard’s “Okie From Muskogee”. The song stressed old-time values, which prompted the pop group the Youngbloods  to respond with its rock hit “Hippie for Olema”.

Singer Debby Boone celebrates her 55th birthday today. Debby is best remembered for her huge hit "You Light Up My Life" which rose to number two on the country charts in 1977 and hit number one on the pop charts. Debby is also known for being 1950s crooner Pat Boone's daughter.

Each weekday at 11:30 a.m., we go back in time, times two with our Big Frog 104 "Country Classic Double". It gives us a chance to remember some great artists and their music. Today, we feature the "Silver Fox" as he was known, Charlie Rich.

One of the most successful singer-songwriters in country and pop music is Jimmy Webb. If you're familiar with Glen Campbell's hits, you know Jimmy Webb's  songwriting talents, songs such as "Galveston" to "By The Time I Get To Phoenix". Today Jimmy Webb celebrates his 65th birthday.
