Sky Diving Planes Crash, Passengers, Pilot Parachute To Safety [VIDEO]

iStock

It was a terrifying scenario. Two sky diving planes collided in mid-air sending one out of control and the other damaged but flyable. The nine sky divers aboard the planes and the pilot of the out of control aircraft all survived, miraculously, by deploying their parachutes.

NBC News obtained exclusive video of the crash and its aftermath.

When we think of the perils of sky diving we usually think of a chute not deploying properly or sustaining an injury while landing. This crash shows a different danger to what is a risky adventure to begin with.
