We've all been touched by someone with Alzheimers.  If not a family member, then a friend's relative, most of us have seen the devastating effects.   Kenny Chesney has joined with a group called Music and Memory that think listening to music can at least alleviate some of the afflictions.

As a spokesperson for the group, Kenny is asking for donations of iPods.

elder care professionals set up personalized music playlists, delivered on iPods and other digital devices, for those in their care. These musical favorites tap deep memories not lost to dementia and can bring residents and clients back to life, enabling them to feel like themselves again, to converse, socialize and stay present.

They say the results can be "nothing short of miraculous" for those not only suffering from Alzheimers, but other forms of dementia.   The video below shows the positive effect listening to music had on Henry, a man who had been suffering from dementia and had become withdrawn.  The video at the bottom is Kenny pledging his support for the Music and Memory and a plea for your help.
