According to our sister station, WIBX:

"The General Herkimer Home, threatened by budgetary issues last year, will remain open.

State Senator James Seward and Assemblyman Marc Butler have jointly announced the procurement of 100-thousand dollars in the new state budget to keep the historic site open.

Both legislators say that the focus now needs to be on ensuring that the home remains a tourist destination.

The Herkimer Home’s Annual Sugaring Off Celebration, which marks the start of its tourist season, will be held on Sunday April 15th from 1:00pm – 4:00pm."
