Easton Corbin is not only getting ready for Wild West FrogFest & Rodeo June 9th, he's gearing up for the release of a new album with a new single 'Lovin' You is Fun.' And if you're heading to FrogFest, you'll be the first to hear the new music.  I had the privileged to talk with Easton, who happened to be just getting out bed.  9am is early for a musician and he had to set his alarm to get up for the interview.

New Music
If you're heading to FrogFest, you'll be in for a special treat.  Easton plans to play the new music off his album before it hits stores. 'got a brand new single and some other songs we can play off the new record that should be out this fall.'

Easton just finished shooting the video for his new single 'Lovin You is Fun' which you can get on iTunes.  'it went great and I'm really excited to see what it's gonna look like.' No word on when it'll be out though.  We'll keep you posted.

Small Town Boy
Easton may be a well known name in the country music world after his first two singles went to number one, but he's a small town boy, and I mean a small town.  'I grew up in the smallest county in the state of Florida. A lot of people don't think of Florida as farm land and where I am, it's about 35 miles from Georgia, it's all farms, cows.  A lot of hunting and fishing goes on.  I grew up showing cows in 4H.  It's not your typical palm beach type of thing most people think of Florida as.'

Before Easton hit it big in Nashville he made his living like the rest of us do.  'I was working a day job at Ace Hardware.  I still go in there sometimes when I'm on that side of town just to visit with the folks I use to work with.'

Musical Influences
Easton Corbin has a more traditional sound which no surprise considering his musical influences. 'Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley and George Jones, those type of guys, that's the music that I love.'

And we'll hear it all and more as Easton Corbin will headline this year's Wild West FrogFest & Rodeo.  Maybe we could get him on a bull since he grew up on a farm.  'I don't know.  I know my way around them but the bull might get the best of me.  If you want me to be singing I don't know if that would be a good idea.'  We definitely want him to sing, his hits and his new tunes, June 9th at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds.
