Fundraiser Set Up For Family Who Lost Home and Loved Ones in Madison County Tornado
A fundraising campaign has been set up for the family who lost loved ones and their home in the Madison County tornado.
The campaign plea reads:
‘As you all know, Tuesday July 8, 2014 a massive storm struck Goff Road in the town of Smithfield, NY. Unfortunately, the DeGroat family not only lost their home, but 3 of their family members as well. Let’s all help them during this tragic time to raise money to help get them their necessities and back on their feet!’
You can donate at GoFundMe.com. Hours after the fund was created, half of the $5,000 goal was already raised.
Governor Andrew Cuomo toured the damage today, saying ‘the storms turned these communities upside down, and the damage that can now be seen is truly heartbreaking.’
