July 2014 could start out with quite a bang in Upstate New York, and not just from the fireworks that come along with Independence Day. A heat advisory has been issued for a portion of Upstate New York and there is a threat of severe weather on Tuesday July 1.
It was more than a severe thunderstorm that struck Verona New York, leaving destruction behind. After a survey of the area, The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down in Verona, NY with winds near 100 MPH.
Thunderstorms are one of the coolest parts of nature. There is nothing like sitting in an enclosed porch or looking out a window and watching this powerful force alive and active. The smell of the air is something to soak in as well. I got some pretty cool footage of the storm and I want to share it with you!
